Mission Statement

To establish and maintain a Nature Center at Tims Ford State Park and promote an understanding of our relationship with the natural world through environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation and conservation programs.

About Us

TFEEA was formed in 2006 to assist Tims Ford State Park in obtaining funds and manpower to develop, promote and maintain environmental programs and activities at the Park. We use nature education and wildlife rehabilitation to increase community environmental awareness.

Environmental Education

Tims Ford State Park’s environmental programs are for all age groups. The programs are designed to support local school science curriculums, allow scouts to earn merit badges and provide family-friendly afternoon outings. Experience-based, hands-on opportunities abound.  They include ranger-led hikes to see our Wildlife Ambassadors in their natural habitat; conservation programs; crafts and games designed to enhance learning. We have something for every member of the family, classroom or church.

Wildlife Rehabilitation

As more homes are built in our area, human/wildlife interactions and conflicts are inevitable.  The staff and volunteers at Tims Ford Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will provide tips on living in harmony with wildlife in the area. We will also teach humane approaches to dealing with wildlife problems, and will provide a place for injured or orphaned animals to recuperate and return to the wild.
